本資料群にはおもに二つの記録写真が含まれる。第一に、1959（昭和34）年に京都大学名誉教授（当時、京都大学防災研究所助教授）の岩垣雄一（1923-2009）が、伊勢湾台風による高潮被害を撮影した記録写真（35mmポジフィルム）、第二に、2010年に同場所を京都大学防災研究所教授の間瀬肇（1953-）が撮影した記録写真（JPGデータ）である。そのほか、岩垣により作成された1959年の調査時のフィールドノートや地図、調査後の講演会で使用されたスライドと図表（35mmネガフィルム、紙焼き写真）も含まれる。 This collection mainly includes two collections of photographs. The first is photographic record (35mm positive films) of damage from storm surge caused by Isewan Typhoon (Typhoon Vera), taken in 1959, by Professor Emeritus Yuichi Iwagaki (1923-2009) at Kyoto University. In 1959, he was Associate Professor of Disaster Prevention Research Institute, Kyoto University. The second is photographic record (originally jpeg files) of the same places, taken in 2010, by Professor Hajime Mase (1953-) of Disaster Prevention Research Institute, Kyoto University. The followings are also included: field notes and maps written by Iwagaki at the investigation in 1959, slides and figures (35mm negative films and printed photographs) used in a lecture after the field survey.

いずれも同研究所の旧・海岸災害研究部門で保管されてきた。
